Murcof & Sergi Palau AV Live

Murcof is the artist name of Mexican electronic musician and composer Fernando Corona, now resident in Barcelona. Brooding electronics and classical sound sources combine in his integrated sound world. At Lunchmeat Festival, Murcof will be joined by Sergi Palau, a multifaceted visual artist based in Valencia, co-founder of the NiñoViejo collective, member of the visual creation laboratory Radiante and curator of the VOlumens festival, who is returning to Lunchmeat after his artist residency at Lunchmeat Festival 2011.

In a world premiere of their newest collaboration, Murcof will be playing music from the forthcoming new album composed for Guilherme Botelho’s Alias dance company over the past few years. The double album will include music from three different choreographies: Antes (2015), Contre-Mondes (2017) and Normal (2018). At the same time Sergi Palau will be mixing visuals created from images taken from these same choreographies. The AV piece wants to give a new approach to the dance work, using dream logic and surrealism as guiding principles.
